A Service Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Allen Cornelius Nelson of 128 Nathaniel Drive Milledgeville will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 12:00 noon at The Baldwin County High School Gymnasium. The interment will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. Remains will be placed in state at 10:00a.m. Allen was called by the Lord on Thursday, March 29, 2012 to make his Sacred Journey Home. He was a kind, loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a faithful and devoted member of Bible Revival Church .Allen served as the assistant principal at Sallie E. Davis Middle School, coached at J.F. Boddie High School and taught at Bill Ireland Youth Detention Center. He was the former chairman and served as a board member of The Baldwin County Board of Education where he retired from after many years of service. The love and laughter he shared with his family will forever be in the hearts of his loving and devoted wife Lois Arnold Nelson, four daughters;Velvalae Chambers, Vickie N. Edwards, Sheba Nelson all of Milledgeville and Shandrena(Keith) Cheney of Brooks, Georgia. One brother ,William Nelson of Milledgeville, one sister ,Louise Barnes of Milledgeville. Fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
