A Celebration of Life for Ms. Bernice Burks of Decatur, Georgia will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Christ The Lord Church of Atlanta, 3760 Glenwood Road, Decatur, Georgia 30032 with viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Bishop L.C. Freeman, Jr. will officiate.  The interment will be private.

Bernice Burks was born on June 21, 1955, to the parentage of late Lucious Burks and Tishe Ivey-Burks.  On Wednesday, February 28, 2024 she was called home.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Franklin, II.

She leaves cherished memories in the hearts of her family: her daughters:  Brandy Franklin of Decatur, Georgia and Latasha Vasquez of Albany, Georgia; one brother, Gene Lee (Valora) Burks of Decatur, Georgia; eight grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a devoted niece, Tonia Barber of Boston, Georgia; a special friend, Robbie Sullivan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
