Celebration of Life for Mrs. Bernice Jackson Veal, age 71, will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1700 N. Jefferson Street NE, Milledgeville, Georgia. Bishop Chris Young will preside, and Pastor Julius Trawick will eulogize.  The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery located at 1201 W. McIntosh Street.

Mrs. Veal entered into rest on Sunday, April 28, 2024. She was a lifelong and active member of El Bethel Baptist Church until her health declined.  She was affiliated with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 523, and the Baldwin County Chapter of AARP #5387. She retired from Central State Hospital as an LPN after twenty-five plus years of dedicated service.

Bernice J. Veal leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Leo Veal Jr. of 53 years; three sons:  Eric (Angela) Veal, Dexter (Katrina) Veal both of Milledgeville, Georgia, and Rodney (Tanisha) Veal of Valdosta, Georgia;  eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two sisters:  Patricia Jackson-Hogan and Barbara Jackson-Vann both of Milledgeville, Georgia; and one brother, Dr. Willie (Beverly) Jackson, Jr. of Milledgeville, Georgia; two aunts: Harriette Odum-French and Eva Tatum-Jackson both of Milledgeville, Georgia and a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Willie Lee Jackson, Sr. & Dennette Odum-Jackson and her sister, Judy Diane Jackson-Henderson.
