Celebration of Life for Deacon Hosey Beckom of 260 Harrisburg Road Milledgeville will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 -11:00a.m. At Zion Church of God in Christ, 271 East Camden Street Milledgeville., Interment will follow at Scenic Memorial Gardens. Remains will be placed in state at 10:00 a.m. at the church. He made his peaceful transition to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2012. Deacon Beckom was a faithful and very devoted member of his church for over 50 plus years. He served as a trustee, past treasurer, member of the deacon board and devoted much of his time laboring at the church. He was a member of the Society at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He retired from Central State Hospital after forty one years of dedicated service. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife Mrs. Nellie Hill Beckom of Milledgeville, two daughters, Bettye (Arthur James) Phelps, Joyce (Calvin) Harris of Milledgeville , and one son , Lucius Beckom of Milledgeville. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Deacon Beckom was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Mae Beckom , daughter, Johnnie Mae Allen, three sisters and three brothers. The family will be receiving friends at 1231 Harris Street Milledgeville.
