Celebration of Life Services for Deacon Phillip Boyer will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 685 East GA-24, Milledgeville, GA.  Pastor Bobby Jackson officiating and interment following at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mr. Boyer entered into rest on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1983 and at an early age became a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He became a deacon in1995 and served for 31 years and 5 of those as chairman of Friendship Baptist Church.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Linda Simmons Boyer; 2 step-children, Ama Anniwaa Macoh and Yaw Achampomg Macoh; his mother, Maud "Erma Jean" Boyer; his siblings, James Boyer, Eva Sherman (Henry Simmons), Josephine Grissom (Roy) of Milledgeville, GA, Malinda White of Atlanta, GA, Marion Boyer Jr of Atlanta, GA, and Sheila Butts(Earl) of Gray, GA. One sister-in-law, Vernita Denson of Macon, GA and one brother-in-law, Melvin Dawson of Atlanta, GA. Four aunts; Doris Mitchell, Rosetta Hopkins, Minnie Hill all of Milledgeville, GA, Eva Mae Mason of Pennsylvania, and one uncle; Michael Edwards of Milledgeville, Ga. And a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
