Home going services for Deacon John Charlie Brown of 477 Meriwether Rd. Milledgeville, Georgia will be held 11:00a.m.Friday December 7, 2012 at Rock Mill Baptist Church 2770 North Columbia Street Milledgeville. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. A wake service will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00p.m. at the funeral home. Deacon Brown served as chairman of the deacon board and was a faithful and devoted servant at Rock Mill Baptist Church for over sixty eight years. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Parham Brown. His memory and legacy of love will forever linger in the hearts of his children; six daughters, Ella (James) Milner of Haddock, Georgia, Patricia (Calvin) Waller of Mableton, Georgia, Bernice Butts, Barbara Williams, Verdell (Albert) Rice, Hazel(Michael) Brown, all of Milledgeville. Two sons; John Calvin Brown , and Johnny C. Brown of Atlanta, Georgia. One brother Joe (Frankie) Brown of Milledgeville, twenty two grandchildren, seventy four great- grandchildren, a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the residence of Albert and Verdell Rice 340 Meriwether Road Milledgeville.
