Celebration of Life for Deacon James Potts of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church 508 Georgia Highway 49 West Milledgeville, Georgia. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the interment to follow at The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 13, 2017.Remains will be instate at the church at 12:00 noon. Deacon Potts was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 4, 2017. He was a faithful and devoted member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for over forty plus years. He served on the Deacon Board, was a member of The Baldwin County Deacon's Union, member of The American Legion Post #523,and a former member of The Baldwin Masonic Lodge #159. Deacon Potts was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Frances Lee Foston - Potts. He leaves cherished memories in the hearts of his family, four daughters, Charlie Mae Hammock of Anaheim, California, Janice Butts of Milledgeville, Georgia, Jeanette (Victor) Mitchell of Jacksonville, Florida and Bertha (Marvin) Smith of Milledgeville, Georgia, two sons, Johnny Booker of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ronnie Booker of Jacksonville, Florida, one brother, Joseph Potts of Vicksburg, Mississippi, seventeen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
