Celebration of Life for Mrs. Edna Earl Williams McDowell, age 89, will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Union Baptist Church, 720 North Clark Street, Milledgeville, Georgia. Pastor Robert Chapman will officiate.  The interment will follow at Heritage Memorial Park, 371 Log Cabin Road, Milledgeville, Georgia.

Mrs. McDowell entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2024. She retired from Central State Hospital with 34 years of service as a Health Service Technician. She was a lifelong and devoted member of Union Baptist Church where she served as a choir member and a member the missionary board. She was also a former member of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by two sons:  Richard Freeman and Earl Wayne Turk.

Edna McDowell leaves to treasure her memories, her husband, Deacon Ernest McDowell; four daughters: Georgia Freeman, Felicia McDowell, Kimberly (Vernon) Reeves all of Milledgeville, Georgia, and Sharon Freeman of Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters: Gloria Ballard of Irwinton, Georgia, Janice Daniels of Milledgeville, Georgia, Alice Jean Todd of Irwinton, Georgia, and Linda Faye (Benjamin) Threats of Houston, Texas; one brother, Calvin (Linda) Williams of Irwinton, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
