Graveside Services Celebrating The Life of Mr. Ernest "Ding" Washington, Jr., age 91, of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 commencing at 1:00pm at Westview Cemetery, 1035 W Montgomery Street Milledgeville, Georgia 31061. Reverend Donald Hill will officiate. Ernest peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his residence with his loving family at his side. He was preceded in death by one son, Barry Franklin Washington. Ernest enjoyed watching the history channel about war movies, discussing the amazing Tuskegee Airmen, and working in his flower gardens at home.

Ernest was a lifelong member of Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church. He was also a member of The American Legion Post 523 in Milledgeville, Georgia.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Martha Odum-Washington, three daughters; Ruby D.(Sean) Washington-Kendrickson of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Valery Washington-Ridley and Velma P. Washington both of Milledgeville, Georgia, two sons, Anthony (April) Washington of Newnan, Georgia, Randell M. Washington of Milledgeville, Georgia, four sisters, Bernice Reeves, Autherine Washington, Betty Rogers and Barbara Parham, one brother, Joseph Reeves, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
