Celebration of life for Mrs. Evelyn Tapley Thompson Ross of 669A Hwy. 49 West Milledgeville will be held on Thursday December 23, 2010 - 11:00 Am. at Green Pastures Baptist Church 150 N. Warren St. Milledgeville. Pastor James Harris Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery; Davisboro, Ga. Remains will be placed in state at the church at 10:00 AM. Mrs Ross entered into rest on Monday December 20, 2010 at the Chaplin Wood Nursing Home. She was a faithful and dedicated member of her church serving as the Church Mother,President of the Senior Choir also Junior Missionary of Hancock and Baldwin Missionary Association. Mrs Ross will be forever cherished by her loving family of one son; Willie Jones Jr. of Freeport, New York, step children; Linda Mason, Billy Warren, Ricky Washington, Queen Esther Thompson, and Magnolia Houston, one brother; The Honorable Rayford E. Tapley of Hurtsboro, Alabama, one sister; Lillie Kate Ware of Milledgeville, devoted nieces Rev. Evelyn Foston (Leroy), Mrs. Peggy Chester (Rev. Benny), devoted nephew Mr. Leon Mitchell (Alice) all of Milledgeville and a loving host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
