Celebration of Life for Mr. Frank James Nelson of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at Victory Baptist Church, 640 Meriwether Road Milledgeville, Georgia. Reverend Grover Watson will officiate. The interment will follow at The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Frank  entered into rest on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his residence.

Frank was devoted and faithful member of St. Mary Baptist Church all of his life. He was a former member of The American Legion Post #523 in Milledgeville, Georgia. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era before coming to an end in 1975. He received an honorable discharge in 1976. He retired from the Department of Transportation as a foreman after 35 years of dedicated service.

Frank was an avid gardner. He was also a true fan of the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, and the Baldwin High School Braves.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Davis Leila Mae Nelson, brother, Johnny Davis Nelson, Jr., and a sister, Sarah Frances Hogan.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Mrs. Bessie Mae Solomon-Nelson, one daughter, Geneva (Raymond) Braziel of Milledgeville, Georgia, two sons, Frank (Brenda) Nelson of Gray, Georgia, and Ian (Ruth) Nelson of Milledgeville, Georgia, four lovely grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
