Celebration Of Life for Mother Gertrude Driskell Hurt of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Baptist Church 485 Meriwether Road NW Milledgeville, Georgia. Remains will lie in state at 10:00 am until the service hour. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. Mother Hurt was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and as Mother of the church. On Sunday morning, October 7, 2018 Gertrude Hurt was called to rest peacefully from this life. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Driskell and Lucy West Driskell. She leaves cherished memories lingering in the hearts of her children, Bernestine (Robert) Williams of Milledgeville, Georgia and Lenon Keith (Linda) Hurt of Warner Robins, Georgia, sisters, Retha Mae Foston of Milledgeville, Georgia, Geneva Cartwright of Gordon, Georgia, and Catherine Carmichael of Marietta, Georgia, one brother, Herman Driskell of Milledgeville, Georgia, devoted niece, Linda Faye Driskell, devoted friend, Lizzie M. Reeves, in laws, Alfreda Dennis, Gainell Banks, Fred & Bennie Jones, John & Helen Roberts, Brother Acie & Sassey Hurt, Brother Melvin & Inez Hurt, Annie Clark, Laura Hurt, Doris Driskell and Corine Driskell, six grandchildren and a loving host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
