Celebration of Life for Mrs. Irene Griswold-Young of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Victory Baptist Church, 640 Meriwether Road NW, Milledgeville, Georgia at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Tommy Williams, Jr. will officiate with Pastor James Kilgore eulogizing. The interment will follow at the Eatonton City Cemetery, Eatonton, Georgia.

Mrs. Young entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Savannah Court of Milledgeville.

Mrs. Irene Griswold-Young was born to the parentage of Preston Griswold and Luella Perdue Griswold in Milledgeville, Georgia.  She was a member of New Life Outreach Christian Center in Eatonton, Georgia.  At New Life Outreach Christian Center, she was the chairperson of the Mothers' Board.  In the community she was a member of the Brothers & Sisters Help Society, and a member of the Coalition of Baldwin County & Vicinity Interdenominational Minister Wives and Widows where she served as Chaplain and in 2019, she was awarded Widow of the Year.  She was employed by Central State Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Eleazar Young, Sr., her son, Eleazar Young, Jr., her daughter-in-law, Valerie Young, and her sister Johnnie Mae Griswold.

Her memories will be cherished by her two daughters: Yolanda Young and Natalie (Anthony) Fields of Milledgeville, Georgia; her two sons: Victor (LaTonja) Young and Preston Young both of Milledgeville, Georgia; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at 1211 Harris Street, Milledgeville, Georgia.

On Friday, July 5, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. family visitation will be held at Peoples Funeral Home, 950 North Clark Street, Milledgeville, Georgia.
