Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the interment to follow at Friendship C.M.E. Church Cemetery, James, Georgia. Mr. Balkcom entered into rest on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Evelyn Mitchell Balkcom, one daughter, Tiah Balkcom (Joshua) Jackson of Milledgeville, Georgia, sisters, Dotsie Patterson, Beautie Liggins, Inez Sanford of Milledgeville, Georgia, and Leila Marie (Milton) Douglas of Lakeland, Florida, brothers, Theodore Balkcom of Milledgeville, Georgia and Melvin (Mona) Balkcom of Columbus, Georgia, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
