Homegoing  Services for Mr. James H. Nelson, Sr. of Milledgeville will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 - 11:00 a.m. at Union Missionary Baptist Church 135 Prosser Road Milledgeville, Georgia. The interment will follow at The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Remains will be instate 10:00 a.m. at the church. The cortege will assemble 9:45 a.m. at  226 Shana Drive Milledgeville .  James entered into rest on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at The Georgia War Veterans Home. Upon graduating high school James enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country with honorable service. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted companion, Ms. Irene Fleming of Milledgeville, one son, James Nelson, Jr. of Clinton, South Carolina, sisters, Elaine Nelson, Clara Nelson, and Barbara Nelson, aunts, Julia Reaves, Arlene Dixon, and Thelma Morrison, grandchildren, Michael, Malcolm, Marcus and Kaylana , step - daughter, Diane Fleming, step - son, Nakia Fleming, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Azel & Winnie Kate Kelsey - Nelson.
