Celebration of Life for Deacon Joe Henry Davis, Sr. age 89, of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 commencing at 11:00 am at Westview Cemetery 1035 West Montgomery Street Milledgeville, Georgia. Reverend Harris Hardwick will officiate. Mr. Davis entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Joe was a lifelong member of Second Macedonia Baptist Church in Milledgeville, Georgia. He served as a choir member and a Deacon. He loved singing, fishing, visiting the sick, praying for others, gardening, telling jokes, and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons and great grandson.

Mr. Davis retired from Central State Hospital after 35 plus years. He was also employed by the Baldwin County Board of Education as a bus driver and by Peoples Funeral Home for a number of years.

His memory lingers on through his two daughters, JoAnn Moore of Decatur, Georgia; Clara Thomas of Milledgeville, Georgia; grandson, Ryan Thomas of Milledgeville, Georgia; and great-grandson Jeremiah Thomas of Milledgeville, Georgia.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys, son, Joe H. Davis, Jr. and grandson Jimmy (Reggie) Thomas, Jr.
