Celebration of Life Services for Mr. John Griffin, 88, of Milledgeville, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Coopers Hill Baptist Church, 487 Gordon Highway, Reverend James Massey will officiate and Pastor Cheryl L. Swint will eulogize. Interment will follow at Scott Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Griffin peacefully entered into rest on the morning of September 19, 2026, at his home.Mr. Griffin relocated from New York to Milledgeville with his family in March 2000. He found joy in bowling, playing cards, and watching sports on television.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Rosie Coleman Griffin; his devoted daughters, Fannie Griffin, Theresa (David) Griffin, Wyndi (Michael) Willis, and Krissy Sowells, all residing in St. Louis, Missouri; his cherished sons, Kenneth (Debra) Griffin, Anthony Griffin, both of St. Louis, Missouri, Travis Griffin of Syracuse, New York, John Edward (Linda) Griffin of Milledgeville, Georgia, Gregory Griffin of Syracuse, New York, and Ira Lingo of Texas. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Louise Griffin Williams, of Milledgeville, Georgia; brothers, Cary (Patricia) Griffin, Willie Griffin, both of Milledgeville, Georgia, and John Burney of Syracuse, New York. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by twenty-eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends.
