Celebration of Life for Mrs. Lillie Mae Essley of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 am at Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church 136 Wolverine Street SE Milledgeville, Georgia. Remains will lie in state at 10:00 am until the service hour. The interment will follow at Scenic Memorial Gardens. Lillie traded time for eternity on Monday, March 4, 2019. She moved back to Milledgeville, Georgia in 1986 from Cleveland, Ohio after spending a number of years there. Upon her return to Milledgeville, Georgia she joined Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church serving with the Missionary Society. Lillie leaves an abundance of loved cherished in the hearts of her nieces, Angela Mallory, Allison Butts, nephews, Nathan (Bernice Simmons) Butts, Stan Yolondo (Shirley) Brown, Shannon (Jechel) Waller and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Essley, her parents, Rich and Maggie Lee Devereaux Brown, siblings, Evelyn Brown Samuels, Myra Brown Waller, Florine Jackson, Willie B. Devereaux, and a nephew, Clarence Simmons, Jr.
