A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Mamie Curry of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 1:00 p.m. at El Bethel Baptist Church 244 North Irwin Street Milledgeville. The interment will follow at Scenic Memorial Gardens. Remains will be placed instate at the church at 12:00 noon. On Tuesday, February 24, 2015 Mamie was called home to be with the Lord. She devoted her life working as a nurse for over thirty four years at Central State Hospital. Survivors include her loving and dedicated husband Mr. James Walter Curry, their four children, Tammy Taylor, Jane (Robert) Ubanwa, Josie F. Sanford, and Carlo (Collette) Taylor, four sisters, Eva Mae Ponder of Cleveland, Ohio; Catherine Calhoun, Mary Ann (Charles) Burton, Evelyn Napier all of Milledgeville, Georgia; devoted grand- daughter Ashanta Epperson, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
