Celebration of Life for Mother Mary Foulks Walker of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Victory Baptist Church 640 Meriweather Road Milledgeville, Georgia. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the interment following at Una Memorial Park. Remains will be in state at the church at 12:00 noon. It was in 1939 that Mary moved from Lewisburg, Kentucky to Georgia and started her career in Putnam and Baldwin Counties as an educator. She joined Zion Church Of God In Christ in Milledgeville where she was a devoted member. Mrs. Walker worked diligently in the Church Of God In Christ, she spearheaded the building fund for Zion Church Of God In Christ, served on the missionary and mothers board, provided in home care for residents of Central State Hospital from 1970 thru 1988, volunteered with the grand parents program , and was affiliated with the retired teachers association. She leaves to celebrate her life her husband of seventy three years, Mr. Lucius Walker, one daughter, Fifina (Larry) Stephens of Milledgeville, Georgia, grand - daughter, Una D' Lynne Stephens of Hephzibah, Georgia , grandson, Corey Tharon Stephens of Charleston, South Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her daughter Una Darlene Walker in 1959. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Zion Church Of God In Christ Scholarship Fund.
