Graveside Services Celebrating The Life of Mr. Matthew "Ninety Nine" Washington, Sr. 84 of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 11:00 am at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery 685 Ga-24 Milledgeville, Georgia. Reverend Eric Murray will officiate. Matthew was called home to eternal rest on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at his residence surrounded by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two sons; Grover Washington and Matthew Washington, Jr., one brother; Reverend John Arthur Washington. Matthew retired from Central State Hospital after thirteen years of dedicated service. He was a lifelong member of Gum Hill Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his devoted wife of sixty five years, Mrs. Amanda Jones-Washington, one daughter; Mary Jean (Cager) Davis of Sparta, Georgia, three sons; Deacon Melvin (Evonne) Washington, Daryl Washington both of Milledgeville, Georgia and Barry Bernard Washington of Stockbridge, Georgia, sisters; Evangelist Geraldine (Clifford) Merrell, Gussie (Wallace) Reynolds, Betty Hall, Liddie Thompkins, Annie J. Wallace and Annie Lois (Sammie) Merrell, sisters-in-law; Evangelist Vondell Washington, Henrietta Barnes, brothers-in-law; Eugene Jones, Charlie Jones and Dorsey Jones, ten grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
