With heartfelt sympathy we announce the passing of Mr. Melvin Brown. Mr. Brown was born August 3, 1953 to Nellie B. Phelps and the late Henry Brown. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday December 20,2010 at the Chapel of All Faiths at 2:00 PM. Remains will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Interment will follow at Bone Cemetery in Milledgeville. He lived all of his life in Milledgeville, Ga. and attended public schools of Baldwin County, he was a graduate of Baldwin High School in 1972. He was a faithful employee of Central State Hospital for a number of years. He enjoyed playing basketball as a hobby and socializing with his friends as a past time. On Tuesday December 14, 2010 Mr. Brown entered into eternal rest at his residence. Survivors include his mother Mrs. Nellie Phelps of Milledgeville, Ga., one twin brother: Marvin Brown, six sisters; Ernestine Turner, Henrietta Manson,Louise Bonner, Linda Phelps, Geneath Phelps all of Milledgeville Ga., Laura Batchelor of New Brunswick New Jersey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
