Celebration Of Life for Mr. Roger Young, Jr. 65 of Milledgeville, Georgia will be held privately for immediate family only on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 1:00pm at The Augustus Austin Memorial Chapel of Peoples Funeral Home 950 N Clark Street Milledgeville, Georgia. Bishop Bruce Lee will officiate. The interment will follow at Saint Paul Baptist Church Cemetery. Roger entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Susie Bell Simpson- Young.

Roger was a scholarly  gentleman who loved his family dearly. He loved reading, watching TV western shows and listening to old school music. He loved the outdoors and was talented at playing the guitar.

He leaves cherished memories with his family of two sisters; Catherine Latimore and Carrie Evans Stanley, two brothers; Donnell (Frances) Young of Atlanta, Georgia, and Earnest Young of Milledgeville, Georgia, his devoted niece; Tomica Holmes, devoted nephews; Felix Latimore, Demetrius Evans, and Brandon Young, great nieces; Bria Latimore and Mya Young, great-great nephew; Landen Stanton and a host of other family and friends.

Family and friends can join the immediate family at the cemetery around 2:30pm.
