A Service Celebrating the Life of Mr. S.D. Harper, Sr.of Sparta, Georgia will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at St. Luke Baptist Church 1950 Hwy.22 East Sparta, Georgia. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the interment following at the church cemetery. Remains will be placed in state at the church at 12:00 noon. On Wednesday, November 4, 2015 surrounded by his loving family S.D. departed this life to receive eternal life of peace, joy, and happiness.He joined Saint Luke Baptist Church several years ago and was a devoted and faithful member. His memory will linger in the hearts of his loving and caring wife of sixty- four years, Mrs. Christine Ingram Harper, two daughters, Virginia (Charles) Hilson of Sparta, Georgia, and Ruth Havior of Milledgeville, Georgia, five sons,S.D.(Vivian) Harper, Jr., Larry (Shelia) Harper both of Sparta, Georgia, Christopher (Shontae) Harper of Macon, Georgia, Alvin (Margaret) Durden and Eugene Ingram, three sisters, Retha Justice, Alice (Flemister) Simmons both of Sparta, Georgia, and Catherine Goodman of Milledgeville, Georgia, one brother, Claude (Catherine) Harper of Milledgeville, Georgia, twenty three - grandchildren, thirty great - grandchildren,nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. S.D. was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mary Harper, a sister, Juanita Choice, two brothers, Linton and Carlie Harper.
