Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Walter "Punkin" Rayford formerly of Milledgeville will be held on Thursday September 20, 2012. Services are scheduled for 1:00p.m. at Union Baptist Church 720 North Clark Street Milledgeville, Georgia. The interment will follow at The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Rayford passed away in New York on Sunday September 9, 2012.Walter attended the public schools of Baldwin County and was a graduate of the class of 1974. Walter served his country in the United States Army for eight years. He tutored the blind with the New York City Board of Education. He was currently employed with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services .Walter will be fondly remembered by his loving family, sisters; Mary Rayford (William) Bracy of Seattle, Washington, Linda Anderson of Milledgeville, Georgia, brothers; Johnnie (Evelyn) Rayford of Columbus, Georgia, James (Doris) Rayford of Milledgeville, Georgia, Phillip ( Shirley) Rayford of Brooklyn, New York, Clarence ( Beverly) Rayford of Milledgeville, and Jonathan ( Patricia) Rayford of Brooklyn, New York. Also left to cherish his memory is a devoted friend Etta Mae Lowman, devoted nephew Titus Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Walter was preceded in death by his parents Cyrus Rayford & Hattie Baymon Rayford, one brother Willie Rayford, and sister-in- law Lizzie Rayford.
